Hot Weather Wedding Style

Dressing for a wedding in The South can be tough–is it outdoor or indoor? How long will we be outside? Is it appropriate to wear a black dress? What if the wedding is at 6pm, not afternoon and not evening? We can sometimes get caught up in the hows and whys of what we might wear that we end up putting more stress on the fun part than we need to!

Fear not! We’re here to help make it easier for you to get dressed for your event. I’ve pulled a few styles to show you just how easy it can be to get dressed for your hot weather weddings!

Whether you get this dress in hot pink, black, aqua blue, or red you are getting an investment dress! Perfectly feminine, the fit of the Champagne dress is flattering to many body shapes and its lightweight silk is perfect for hot weather without being sheer. Pile on the bangles and some amazing heels to complete the look!

Parker, a label known for party dresses, gives us something wedding ready with the Pipsy dress. A classic shift silhouette, The Pipsy is the perfect canvas for a statement necklace or earrings. I always say to invest in something you can wear multiple times–imagine your options here.

Want something with a little more coverage? Try a gorgeous long-sleeved dress like this style from Shoshanna. If your wedding is indoors, the AC can sometimes cool you off more than expected so a sleeved dress is an amazing option! With this style, you don’t have much to do in terms of accessories–throw on a smile and be done with it! A beautiful pop of color in a shoe or bag is my only suggestion.

Need more options? Come to one of our three Triangle locations! We carry more styles from Amanda Uprichard, Parker, Shoshanna, Diane von Furstenberg, Nicole Miller, Rebecca Taylor, Joie and more–let us know about your event and we’ll help get you in the perfect dress.
